Over recent years Brooks Bros has invested massively (and continues to do so) in the very latest woodworking technology. Each one of our UK sites has the facilities to take supplying timber several steps down the line in order to deliver competitively priced, finished timber products.

Sawing | Cross-cutting | Log Band Milling
Around the Brooks Bros sites we have five Raimann ProfiRip KM 310M multi-rip saws and a number of high speed, fully automated, optimising defecting crosscuts and beam saws. The Brooks Bros Sewstern site operates one of the few band mill saws in the UK which still cuts predominantly European Oak and Douglas Fir logs into bespoke beam sizes to meet customers’ specific size and quality requirements.
Tooling
Our new and very latest fully automatic Weinig Rondamat 1000 CNC, grinds and sharpens tools autonomously to an accuracy level which was previously unachievable. From a sample, a description or preferably a fully dimensioned drawing, a technical CAD drawing is created using Weinig’s Moulder Master software, which now negates the need for templates. This provides exceptional tool accuracy and is the fundamental basis for producing the very best, top quality profiles.
Profile moulding
Our state-of-the-art mill facilities are equipped with a range of 23 moulders (including Weinig Powermat 500, 1000, 1500 and 3000 new generation moulders). The list of features, benefits and advantages that these machines offer includes; exceptionally high cutter speeds, width capabilities of up to 300mm and world class set up speeds. Several of our moulders are fitted with a 7th universal head, enabling us to produce particularly difficult profiles in a single pass.
So, whether it’s a large batch production run or a small multiple set-up job, a unique profile that needs to be matched or a more standard profile, producing accurate and competitively priced profiles to the highest possible standard of finish is something Brooks Bros has the expertise and ability to excel in.
Beam Planing
Our Hundegger HM-3 Automatic 4 sider planer is ideal for planing big beams up to 300mm x 400mm. It has a fully automated infeed and outfeed conveyor system for optimum efficiency. Its total planing system can be used to plane to fixed dimensions or to follow the beam to plane beams from their nominal size.
Log Band Milling
Our sawmill is one of the few band mill operations in the UK still cutting mainly European Oak, Douglas Fir and Larch logs into bespoke beam sizes to meet customers’ specific requirements.
We operate two band mills: a Danckaert 1500 which can cut logs 7.8m long and 1200mm diameter and a recently added Woodmizer LT40 to increase our capacity.
Laminating
Laminated timber is made by gluing together and clamping accurately machined defect-free lamellas of solid timber. Our Taylor Laminating Press produces laminated timber sections up to 150mm x 900mm x 4.9m.

Bespoke Flooring
Also included in the machining line-up is a bespoke flooring production line that features automated moulding, cross cutting with ends matched, labelling and polythene shrink wrapping.
