Certification and collaborations
We believe that independent certification according to internationally-recognised standards provides the best assurance that timber originates from responsible managed forests and that companies along supply chain operate in a responsible way.
Widely recognised as the “gold standard” for responsible forest management, FSC enjoys support from a broad range of leading businesses and NGOs. We recognise other schemes but preference FSC where possible.
PEFC promotes sustainable forest management and adopts a “bottom up approach”. It is a non-profit, umbrella organisation that endorses national forest certification schemes.
Certification according to BM Trada Forest Products Chain of Custody standard enables us to trade other certified and legally verified material. Recognised schemes include: Bureau Veritas Origin & Legality Du Bois (OLB)
As a TTF member, it is a requirement to commit to responsible sourcing, implement a due diligence system and reporting annually on progress, which is independently audited.
Membership with the below associations provides Brooks Bros with a platform to advocate for improved sustainability practices in the timber industry. It also provides us with information that enables us to be more efficient and effective.
Representing the timber industry across all sectors in the UK, TTF promotes timber as the leading renewable, low carbon construction material. As a member, we are required to comply with its Code of Conduct.
Represents flooring contractors, manufacturers, distributors and consultants, CFA promotes the highest standards of professionalism, safety and training.
Through membership of an internationally recognised centre for excellence on specification and use of timber and timber products, we are able to support our customers with technically sound advice and promote timber use in the construction.
